Kim Sutton's "Live To Tell" - Her life, Madonna's songs!

Award winning performer, Kim Sutton, is about to put the "a" in "alt-cabaret" when she debuts Live to Tell - My Life, Madonna's Songs: A theatrical event conceived and created by Kim Sutton, Steven Ray Watkins, and Lennie Watts. What's so "alt" about it? There's almost no patter whatsoever! Kim's autobiographical show tells her very interesting life story sampling 48 Madonna songs, with staging, props and interaction with three adorable co-performers, Ashton Michael Corey, Paul Scott Pilcz, and Derek Staranowski. It's directed by Lennie Watts, with Musical Direction and piano accompaniment by Steven Ray Watkins, joined by Matt Scharfglass on bass and Don Kelly on drums. You can catch the show at the Laurie Beechman Theatre in March. Details here: Kim Sutton Rocks It

Kim Sutton is a Navy veteran who came to singing through her bucket list just a few years ago. I met with her when she was just about to do her show, Anchors Away! It was her second time performing a solo show, and she was ready for the press! I noticed her hands trembled as we had breakfast at a diner in Hell's Kitchen, and she referenced a health issue. In the two years following that meeting, the vivacious blonde won two coveted awards in the nightlife world of New York City for Anchors Away! and Whenever I Call You Friend, a duo show she did with pal, Kim Grogg. She also had three brain surgeries for her condition, Progressive Essential Tremor, from which she is now recovering. She's a Madonna devotee, and I can't wait to hear her Live To Tell.
